The satin luminosity particular to Sennelier watercolors has its roots in the Impressionist school. The luminous intensity of the Ile de France influenced the creation of the range, contributing to what we call "French watercolor". These extra-fine colors are still produced on the same basis as at the end of the 19th century: Sennelier watercolors are traditionally ground using granite millstones that turn slowly so as not to heat up the paste or alter its nuances. All these rich, luminous and intense shades have excellent lightfastness.
